Victoria Coates

Deputy National Security Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa, 2019-20

Victoria Coates is a distinguished American government official who served as Deputy National Security Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa from 2019 to 2020 in the Trump administration, where she led critical initiatives including the Maximum Pressure Campaign against Iran and helped initiate the historic Abraham Accords negotiations. Prior to this, she held senior roles on the National Security Council as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Strategic Assessments, coordinating NSC policy and communications on Middle East peace and security. Coates also advised prominent political figures on foreign policy, including Senators Ted Cruz and former Governor Rick Perry, and served as senior advisor at the Department of Energy and now holds a vice presidential position at The Heritage Foundation.
