Philip Rycroft was Permanent Secretary at the Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) from October 2017 to March 2019, where he led the department in all its work on the Government’s preparations for Brexit. He served as Second Permanent Secretary at DExEU since 2016. From June 2015 until March 2019, Philip was head of the UK Governance Group in the Cabinet Office, advising ministers on all aspects of the UK constitution and devolution. Prior, he was the Director General in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg.
