Dr. Ömer Taspinar has served as an expert on Turkey and the Middle East at the National Intelligence, the strategy and assessments body for the US Intelligence Community. He is a professor of Turkish political economy and National Security Strategy at the National War College and an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. He is the author of two books: “Political Islam and Kurdish Nationalism in Turkey” and “Fighting Radicalism with Human Development: Freedom, Education and Growth in the Islamic World.”
